Dave Fry

Varsity Head Coach

After a professional hockey career that was recently with the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League, Dave was named as Head Coach for the Allen Varsity team.  Coach Fry is in his third year as Allen's Varsity coach. He led the Varsity to an impressive undefeated regular season and a Silver Section Championship in 2003-2004.  Last season he led the Varsity to Co-champs of the Gold Section 1. This season Coach Fry not only is the Varsity Coach but was also named Allen's Director of Hockey Operations where he oversees all of the Allen Hockey teams. Coach Fry is also a coach for the Alliance  In his first season with the Alliance Coach Fry led the Alliance Midget Minor A team to the 2003 Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins Thanksgiving Tournament Finals, 2004 Colorado Springs MLK Tournament Championship, and the 2004 President's Day Nashville Tournament Championship.  He also led his 2003-2004 team to the 2004 Texoma Midget A Playoff Championship.  In 2004-2005, he led his Midget Minor AA Team to the Texoma Championship with a league and playoff record of 19-1, to the Tier II U16 State Championship, the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Championship, and to the 2005 U16 Tier II USA Hockey National Championships in Richmond, Virginia.

   
Curt Johnson

Varsity Asst. Coach

Coach Johnson is in his 7th year as a coach with the Eagles. Coach Johnson played recreational hockey as a kid growing up in Michigan. He moved to Texas and then played in the men’s league for 13 years.  Curt coached roller hockey for 5 years and became the ASA Roller Hockey Commissioner for 3.5 years. Curt has coached ice hockey for the Dr. Pepper Star Center for 5 years. He has coached on the Allen Eagles JV Ice Hockey team for 6 years, 3 as assistant coach and 3 as head coach. In the last two years with the Eagles, they have been a contender in the playoffs. He was also the Midget Minor A Ice Hawks Head Coach last year.

   
David Nadolny JV Blue Head Coach

Coach Nadolny started coaching 9 years ago when his son chose to play hockey.  He has coached squirt through bantam house league teams, McKinney High School JV team, and for the past 3 years as Head Coach for the Texas Aces Midget Major AA team.  Coach Nadolny will coach the Texas Aces Midget Major AA team along with the Allen Eagles JV Blue team next season.  In addition to coaching hockey he has also coached football, soccer, and women's softball.  The women's softball team advanced to the National Softball Tournament 2 out of those 3 years he coached it.  Coach Nadolny has also played several levels of youth hockey thru Bantam AA before playing for his school’s varsity team for 3 years.  He later played club hockey for the University of Toledo for 2 years as a defenseman before joining Toledo Fire, a competitive men’s full contact “A” league team.

   
Jimmy Hurtado

JV Red Head Coach

Coach Hurtado joins the Allen Eagles coaching staff for the 2009-2010 season.  With over 10 years Coaching experience with several organizations at different levels Hurtado brings plenty of experience to the JV Red team.  Coach Hurtado has been a Head Coach for House league youth hockey at the Plano and Frisco Stars Center as well as PSA and ITC, Texas Aces Travel Hockey for mites and squirts, ITC Adult I league, DJHA Squirt A, Northwest High School JV, and Garland High School JV.  Additionally Hurtado has served as an Assistant Coach for Highland Park Jr. Scots Peewee AA,  Northwest High School Varsity, Garland High School Varsity, Alliance Bulldogs Peewee AA, and Mckinney Ice Hockey Bantam.  In addition to all the coaching positions, Coach Hurtado has been been involved in DJHA summer camp instructor, ITC Future Heroes & Play the Game, Highland Park Jr. Scotts spring camp instructor, the Highland Park Jr. Scotts mite development program, and the ITC mite development program
 

   
Zach Klempel

JV Red Asst. Coach

Over 16 years of playing experience came to Allen in 9th grade and played for the Allen High School JV freshman year 2000-2001 and Varsity for Coach Dave Fry 02’-03’ and 03’-04 seasons. Played in the undefeated regular season and a Silver Section Championship in 2003-2004. Played for Coach Fry for the Alliance Midget Minor A team for the 2003 Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins Thanksgiving Tournament Finals, 2004 Colorado Springs MLK Tournament Championship, and the 2004 President's Day Nashville Tournament Championship.  Also played for his 2003-2004 team that went to the 2004 Texoma Midget A Playoff Championship. Played for the Tri-City Titans Junior team 2004-2005 in Tri-Cities WA and Dallas Titans 2005-2006 and Dallas Hawks Junior team 2006-2007

   
Chad Bradley JV Prep Head Coach

Coach Bradley has been a lifelong fan of hockey. Growing up in the Dallas area Coach Bradley played hockey, soccer and volleyball.  At a young age he was exposed to hockey following the Dallas Blackhawks which allowed him the opportunity to grow close to the sport. Coach Bradley has played hockey recreationally for years including roller hockey, but began competitively playing ice hockey in the early 90's where he play in the Senior League Hockey Program from 1991 to 1993 and in the Stars Senior League Program from 1993 to 2002.  He has coached hockey through the Allen Sports Association Inline Hockey, the Recreational Hockey League and most recently coached a Peewee A team in the 2008 Silver Sticks.  Coach Bradley has been coaching Peewee teams at Stone Briar Ice for the past two years.  Coach Bradley has his Level 3 Coaches Certification from USA Hockey.

   
Tim Dentler JV Prep Asst. Coach

Tim Dentler has coached and been involved with youth sports since 1984.  He has coached baseball, basketball, soccer and hockey in leagues associated with the Allen Sports Association, Mckinney Baseball League, Mckinney Youth Soccer Associations and the Victoria Little League.  Growing up in Victoria, Texas, hockey was not a sporting option.  However, with the opportunity to play baseball and basketball through high school he was able to develop skills and life lessons he uses today in his coaching sessions with his players and parents.   Tim’s first direct involvement with hockey was in 2002 when his son began playing inline hockey through the Allen Sports association.  He has coached inline hockey for over six years and most recently was assistant coach with a Stone Briar Ice Peewee team for the 2008/09 season.    Tim will be the Assistant Coach with the Allen Eagles JV-Prep Development Team this season.  He has his Level 3 coaching certification through USA Hockey.
